Texture is right on!

These sweet-looking cookies had just the right crispness of a shortbread cookie. The actual taste, however, I found lacking. The cookies were kind of dull-tasting, a bit forgettable. I think it was that buttery taste that was lacking, and I found I could easily forgo them. The gingerbread boys and girls, on the other hand, were right on the money! They were great and really cute, too. I'll get them again next year. They were a hit at a party. The shortbread cookies seemed to linger on the plate, however. Sorry to not have a better review. They weren't bad. They just weren't great. Thank you for your bakery. I raised a son with true Celiac disease in the days when it was next to impossible to get gluten-free baked goods here. I had to improvise, so I know that it is not a simple thing to do what you are doing.

memories of pepperidge farm

I didn't have Celiac as a child, and often my grandmother would serve me pepperidge farm shortbread cookies with milk after school as a snack. I loved them - and since my diagnosis, have missed them terribly. I melted chocolate chips, dipped the cookies in the melted chocolate, and voila! like Milano cookies - well, my day has been made. Thanks Mariposa!
