apple spice peace cake

Moist and full of apples, this spice cake is a great vegan dessert. Pair with ice cream (vegan or not) and everyone will be happy! This 4 1/2" diameter cake is perfect as an individual cake or for sharing with a couple people.

ingredients: purified water, GF flour mix (organic brown rice flour, potato starch, sweet rice flour, tapioca flour), natural unsulphered dried apples, dark brown sugar, almond meal, expeller pressed canola oil, spices, grainless baking powder, baking soda, pure vanilla extract, guar gum and salt.
allergens: Contains almonds.
shelf-life: 5 days (refrigerate upon arrival). Can be frozen to extend shelf-life.

The idea behind our peace cake ...

Mariposa's apple spice peace cake was inspired by "war cakes" which were created during WWII when eggs and other commodities were rationed yet people still found ways to bake cakes without standard cake ingredients.
We wanted to create a gluten-free vegan cake, which also meant developing a delicious recipe with non-traditional ingredients. We call it a peace cake because a portion of sales goes towards organizations that improve our communities.
